Welcome and inclusive statement
At West Auckland Vineyard Church we take the words of Jesus seriously who, when asked which was the greatest commandment, replied, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
As part of our calling to live out these words of Jesus we offer a warm, genuine, and open welcome to everyone irrespective of ability, status, past, ethnicity, sexuality, or gender identity. Everyone is invited, included and encouraged to participate in the community and worship life of West Auckland Vineyard church family. If you are a former prisoner, we are also registered on The Welcome Directory.
See www.welcomedirectory.org.uk for more details.
Even if you do not yet consider yourself a follower of Jesus we offer opportunities for participation in the life of the church as well as receiving practical and spiritual support. We will also always hope and pray that you will personally discover the life transforming experience of genuinely knowing Jesus.
If you identify with any of the categories or communities above and you become, or already are, a follower of Jesus and want to test a calling into one of our areas of ministry we would welcome this and, through discussion and prayer with the Leadership team, you would receive a steer, or confirmation, of any aspect of calling.
During your time at WAVC, if you see, hear or are subject to any threatening language, discrimination, behaviour or other actions based solely on your ability, past, ethnicity, sexuality or gender identity please let us know at: westaucklandvineyard@gmail.com and we will deal with it in confidence and, as appropriate, pass it to our safeguarding officer for further advice and, if required, any necessary action.
